What is Vastu

The word Vastu has its origin from
Sanskrit word 'Vas' which means place or residence.
Some say it to have originated from word 'Vàstu' meaning a thing.

The science of Vastu is based upon many factors. It is purely a scientific
way of building structures and decorating interiors and exteriors. It is used in
deciding what type of land is to be used for construction, what should be done
before starting construction, when to start the construction, what should be the
drawing/site plan, and much more. It covers almost every aspect of construction
activity. It was widely used in ancient India. It lost its importance during
invasions by foreigners. But, in independent India, it has rapidly gained
importance. Vastu is now spreading its wings in other countries also as people
now understand its usefulness.
